December 18, 2020 – We are proud to share that our Ground Control brewing system was selected as a recipient of the 2020 Good Design Awards. The Good Design awards are the oldest and most prestigious award for design, worldwide. The Good Design awards were founded “to honor both products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing that have chartered new directions for innovation and pushed the envelope for competitive products in the world marketplace.”
Ground Control was the only piece of commercial coffee equipment to receive this award in 2020, and the award reflects the tremendous design efforts of our industrial design partners, Y Studios. Other recipients of the Good Design award in 2020 include the Ferrari Roma and Google Trekker. Ground Control is also the recipient of the 2018 Specialty Coffee Association Best New Product Award, and is a 2020 IDEA Design Award Finalist.
Ground Control’s ground-breaking designs are used by industry leading roasters worldwide, including Intelligentsia Coffee, Onyx Coffee Lab, Sump, and Black and White Coffee Roasters.
Ground Control is the only brewer in existence that can brew filter coffee “as good as it gets,” produce cold brew in 8 minutes, brew a gallon of iced latte with two minutes of labor, and brew top quality tea, all at commercial scale.
Good Design is scheduled to publicly announce the list of winners of the week of December 21, 2020.
